Steak with Mushroom Sauce

Posted by Solitary Dancer on April 15, 2008

Mushroom Sauced Steak
by: mer@

The poster of this recipe says it is originally from the “A-1 Steak Sauce Great Grilling”.  The recipe is not on the web, that I could find.  But, the book is still around and for sale.  I found it over at Amazon, but I’m sure there are other sellers out there.greatgrilling

Ingredients

1/2 cup onion, sliced
2 tablespoons margarine (I would use real butter)
1 1/2 cups mushroom, sliced
1 cup steak sauce, such as A-1 BOLD Steak Sauce (CHECK THE CARBS)
1/2 cup sour cream
2 (8 ounce)  beef, club about 1 inch thick or 1 strip steak, about 1 inch thick

Directions

   1. In medium skillet over medium heat, saute onion in margarine until tender, about 5 minutes.

   2. Add mushrooms; saute 5 minutes more.

   3. Stir in steak sauce; heat to boil.

   4. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes; stir in sour cream.

   5. Cook and stir until heated through (do not boil); keep warm.

   6. Grill steaks over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side or until done.

   7. Serve steaks topped with mushroom sauce.
