NadineM’s Low Carb Barbecue Sauce

Posted by Solitary Dancer on May 4, 2006

NadineM’s Low Carb Barbecue Sauce

I had to share this recipe. It’s great on ribs. Just brush it on near the end of grilling.

Combine and heat:
12-14 oz sugar free catsup
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 tsp. Splenda
liberal sprinkle of red and black pepper
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 of a seeded lemon, diced fine
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. ground coriander
1/8 tsp. Spanish paprika
1/8 tsp. saffron
1/4 tsp. ground ginger

For a smoky flavor, put some mesquite chips in foil and lay on the coals.

NOTE:  You can thicken this with some Guar Gum, Gluccomanan Powder or whatever thickener you want.  You can also use this in the crock pot for some great barbecue.
