Christmas Cut Out Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
2 sticks butter (1cup)
1 cup sugar-I used Splenda
1 egg
2 T milk/cream/half and half
1 T vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
2 cup flour (Soy flour is denser I used more like 1 3/4 cup because you add flour during the rolling out process) ***See Note
DIRECTIONS:
Refrigerate dough before rolling out.
Bake cookies 350degree 15minutes-I used small dry electric oven using parchment paper over a perforated pizza pan and my star point tips and bottoms were golden so watch cookies as they bake.
During the rolling out phase I actually used some Vanilla Whey Protein Powder to dust my counter and rolling pin. The metal outline cookie cutters work best-I am still washing dough out of those clear red plastic detailed cookie cutters.
These cookies did not spread at all so choose the size of cookie cutter with that in mind. They ever-so-slightly raised evenly during baking.
They look and taste the same as the original recipe-the cream cheese makes these a dense chewy sugar cookie, not a dry crumbly one. Great for coffee dunkers.
MY NOTE: I am sure you could use Carbalose Flour without a problem. Just watch the amount so you don’t get too much. Maybe you could even use Coconut Flour. Not sure about that. I’ve never used it so try this at your own risk. ![]()
