Cauliflower with Wasabi Cheese Sauce Revisited

Posted by Solitary Dancer on December 10, 2007

Well, well, the snit that insisted that I take this recipe down because it was hers really has a huge ego. I did a search and found this recipe in several places. So who really owns this recipe? Who knows. Anyway, here’s the recipe from another source. It’s just too good to pass up.

Cauliflower with Wasabi Cheese Sauce

Ingredients:

1 1/2 pound head fresh cauliflower, trimmed and cut into florets
1 tablespoon bacon fat (or butter)
1/4 cup minced onion
2 teaspoons prepared wasabi
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup skim milk
2 ounces good melting cheese in large chunks (a sharp cheddar was on hand tonight)
salt and pepper to taste
2 ounces good melting cheese, diced

Directions:

Steam cauliflower for 10 - 12 minutes or until a knife can be easily inserted into a thick stem area.

Heat bacon fat in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook until soft, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the wasabi, then the flour and cook about 1 minute, stirring continuously.

Slowly add the milk to the onion/flour, stirring constantly.

Heat milk, but don’t let it boil, or the sauce will curdle.

Add chunks of cheese and let melt completely, stirring occasionally.

Immediately before serving, stir in diced cheese. Pour 1/4 cup sauce over each serving.

Cauliflower with Wasabi Cheese Sauce

Posted by Solitary Dancer on December 10, 2007

I had a great recipe that I found at another site, which I linked to. The owner of that site is being a snot and doesn’t like to share even if you give her credit.

So, here’s her web address just so you can pass it around to make sure you DO NOT visit her site. She’s a snot and has no place in a friendly kitchen such as ours.

You can read the comment she left and feel free to email her. Here’s her email address as noted on her blog, which is being given to her for free but she can’t share a recipe.

Here’s the comment she sent me.

Please remove this post - http://kitchen-parade-veggieventure.blogspot.com/2005/06/day-62.html. You have copied both the photograph and 100% of the text.
This is called plagiarism.

Hmmmm, giving credit with the source file link and loading the photograph from my server so as not to use her bandwidth. Gee, and I’m the bad guy. I give credit where credit is due. So, I give her credit for being a snot and just downright nasty. I have recipes that have shown up on other sites and if there’s a link back to me that’s all I ask.

So, I hope everyone has a great day and spreads the word about yet another site to avoid.

Here’s the ironic part of this nonsense. If I hadn’t linked back to her site she never would have known that I posted her recipe. She only found a trackback in her stats because of the link. Kind of ironic, don’t you think?
